Lightning Strikes, and ?
Sometimes disasters cannot be avoided. Equipment failure however can be prevented with Non Destructive Testing during the maintenance cycles. Wind Turbine gear boxes are inspected in service with Ultrasonic NDT and Visually using Video Borescopes. We’ve provided many for these critical applications. The turbine blades themselves are non-destructively tested by the manufacturing using Ultrasonic NDT as well. There are many tests that are conducted to insure safety of the public and those effected by such unfortunate and costly failures.
Aircraft Turbine Pt6 JT15D | Nuclear | Hydro Electric Power Generation | High Pressure Piping Video Inspections | Sewer and Water Treatment Plant Inspections| Off Shore Petroleum Platform Inspection | Steam Turbine Generation NDT | Refinery and Petrochemical Non-Destructive Examinations | Remote Visual Inspection of Weldments | Infrastructure Corrosion Detection | Corrosion and Flaw Detection of Industrial Turbines
Those are a few of the many mission critical inspection solutions that Pacific Borescopes has provided to industry since 2005.
Videoscopes
Videoscopes are the industrial equivalent of flexible endoscope instruments similar to those that most people are familiar in hospitals. Industrial Endoscopy or Remote Visual Inspection is required to prevent such tragedies as those in the photos above. 2mm diameter videoscopes are now being routinely manufactured thanks to the miniaturization of CMOS or CCD image sensor chips. Lighting is provided remotely or with an LED chip. These Videoscopes are professional use and for mission critical applications, not consumer applications such as those you can now find in your local tool distributor or hardware store for $100-$1,000. Industrial applications require articulation (remote movement) of the tip of the videoscope and are designed for rugged industrial abuse, protected by tungsten braided sheathing material.
